Caring for the Pomeranian Spitz

Ease of care is one of the advantages of the Pomeranian Spitz. Spitz don’t require a lot of time and effort from the owner. The only thing that is required from the owner of such a dog is to take care of its coat. It is necessary to comb the Pomeranian Spitz once a week, and the owner should pay special attention to the places where the hair sheds most, namely the hips and behind the ears.

Spitz grooming salons can provide a “bear cub” or “fox” hairstyle, or simply tidy up the dog’s natural fluff. It is best to have your Spitz bathed by the same groomers. This dog should not be bathed frequently and it is best to limit baths to once every month or two.

Regular brushing and nail trimming is also recommended.

When it comes to feeding the Pomeranian Spitz, the right food will suffice. It is also important to keep the dog hydrated by keeping its bowl full of water. During the spring moulting season, experts recommend vitamin supplements to keep the Spitz healthy.
